Hi! I am Zejun Zhou, a senior currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Data Science at The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Outside work, I like to swim, play the piano and have fun with video games. I am also a lover of martial arts novels. Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils by Jin Yong is my favorite reading.

  • Helped over 30 students to understand fundamental topics of Computer Science by holding weekly tutoring session at Computer Science Learning Center.
  • Provided technical helps to students who encountered difficulities in code-debugging by presenting debugging skills in person; demonstrated the code-debugging concept using Print statement and IDE debugger to help student debug efficiently.
  • Consolidate key concepts of computer science by asking students questions during tutoring session. Recorded videos to illustrate concepts and uploaded to YouTube for students to access.

  • Worked with 11 organization members in Website Development; learned necessary Web skills of javascript, Contentful API and Tailwind Framework.
  • Hydrated Website Homepage in order to load content effectively using javascript and Contentful API.
  • Conducted version control by using Github Issue and Branch to contribute project in sections; Created Pull Request for project manager to review before merging.

  • Conducted education training of Google Colab and MAST-ML toolkit under guidance from Dr. Benjamin Afflerbach
  • Predicted the band-gap values based on various chemical features by creating regression models using Python module Scikit-learn and MAST-ML.
  • Generated Parity Plot to evaluate regression model. Assessed model using statistical metrics R Square, MAE, and RMSE.

Covid-19 Vaccination Visualization

A 3-Person Hackathon project completed in 24 hours at the UW-Madison. Developed through Flask Framework to host data Visualization. Adding both dynamic and static visualization created by Tableau and Pandas module.
